Mythology
The Sword of Nuada
Nuada is king of the Tuatha Dé Danann in medieval Irish myth and is closely associated with the struggle for kingship surrounding the battles of Mag Tuired.
A sword belonging to Nuada appears among the celebrated treasures associated with the Tuatha Dé Danann in later Irish tradition. Nuada himself is remembered particularly for losing an arm in battle, receiving a silver replacement, and eventually returning to kingship.
The Celtic Clash relic draws on the long tradition connecting Nuada with supernatural kingship, warfare and the treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
